Full Story: rawstory.com Shortly before 10 am on the morning of September 11, 2001, amid rumors of a fourth hijacked plane headed for Washington, DC, a mystery aircraft appeared in restricted airspace over the White House. There has never been an official explanation for this incident, which has provided abundant fuel for 9/11 conspiracy theories. CNN has now learned from two government sources that the mystery plane was a military aircraft and has determined that the blurry image on video appears to match photos of the Air Force's E-4B (discussed here on Wikipedia), a specially modified Boeing 747 with a communications pod behind the cockpit. "The E-4B is a state of the art flying command post," CNN explained, "built and equipped for one reason -- to keep the government running no matter what, even in the event of a nuclear war, the reason it was nicknamed the 'doomsday plane' during the Cold War." 9/11 Commission co-chair Lee Hamilton told CNN he was aware of the incident and that it had simply never seemed important enough to make it into the commission's report. He called conspiracy theories involving government complicity in 9/11 "ludicrous." The plane was previously identified as the E-4B a year ago by one researcher on a forum associated with the 9/11 conspiracy film, Loose Change. CNN acknowledges that, despite its identification, the absence of the aircraft from official investigations, together with the Pentagon's denial that it was a military plane and the ...

When the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner will be unveiled on Sunday, July 8 at its official Premiere in Seattle, it will roll out with two next generation Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines - the leading powerplant for all versions of the 787. The Trent 1000's design has been focused on delivering world-best levels of fuel burn, noise and emissions. With its next generation technology and Trent pedigree, the Trent 1000 will deliver the lowest fuel burn economics over the life of the engine. Rig and engine testing have produced excellent results, and continuing introduction of new technology will ensure that the Trent 1000 delivers the lowest emissions for the 787, with significant margin to current and future legislation. With the largest fan on the 787, the Trent 1000 will also be the quietest. The Trent 1000 will also power the aircraft on its maiden flight later this year and will be the first to enter service with launch customer ANA (All Nippon Airways) in 2008.

From the Super Structures Series by Discovery Channel. Part1 -Copyright Discovery Channel From Wikipedia: The Boeing 747, sometimes nicknamed the "Jumbo Jet",[5][6] is among the world's most recognizable aircraft,[7] and was the first wide-body commercial airliner ever produced. Manufactured by Boeing's Commercial Airplane unit in the United States, the original version of the 747 was two and a half times the size of the Boeing 707,[8] one of the common large commercial aircraft of the 1960s. The aircraft's wingspan is actually longer than the length of the Wright Brothers' first flight. First flown commercially in 1970, it held the passenger capacity record for 37 years, until it was surpassed by the Airbus A380.

WATCH IN HIGH QULITY!!!! (this video is made by boeing but displayed by apakiboi) Boeing announced that it was launching the 747 Advanced as the "Boeing 747-8" on 14 November 2005. The 747-8 and 747SP are the only 747 variants with a fuselage of modified length. This will be the first lengthened 747 to go in to production. The 747-8 will use the same engine and cockpit technology as the 787. Boeing says that the new design will be quieter, more economical, and more environmentally friendly than previous versions of the 747. As a derivative of the already common 747-400, the 747-8 has the economic benefit of similar training and interchangeable parts. The 747-8, as the current new development of Boeing's largest airliner, is notably in direct competition on long-haul routes with the A380, a full-length double-deck aircraft now in service. For airlines seeking very large passenger airliners, the two have been pitched as competitors on various occasions. No airline has canceled an order for the passenger version of the A380 as of 2008. The 747-8 is a development of the Boeing 747, which takes advantage of improvements in technology and aerodynamics. The two variants of the 747-8 were launched in 2005, and as of 2006 will both feature a fuselage stretch of 18.3 ft (5.6 m) over the 747-400, bringing the total length to 250 ft 2½ in (76.26 m). The stretch would mean that the 747-8 would be the world's longest passenger airliner, surpassing the Airbus A340-600 by 3.6 ft (1.1 m ...
